Seven Bay area visual artists have joined forces to create Artists for Open Space, an artist group inspired by the beauty of nature and dedicated to preserving open space for all to enjoy. Each artist will donate 20% of their sales to the open space organization specified by those who purchase their work. Artwork is available to view online at www.artistsforopenspace.com. South Bay area artist, Nancy Barry-Jansson, enjoys frequent walks throughout the open spaces of the bay area. Wishing to honor the beauty of these open spaces, Barry-Jansson sought to find a way to give back artistically and financially to the land she has grown to love. Thus was born the initial concept for Artists for Open Space. In
this pursuit, Barry-Jansson is joined by Bay Area artists Elaine Frenett,
JoAnne Horsfall Beasley, Linda Tapscott, Jean Warren, Nancy Wulff,
and Floy Zittin. Works include watercolors, drawing, oil pastels,
and hand-painted unique impressions. Creating art inspired by nature,
these artists have agreed to donate 20% of sales from specified works
to open space organizations. Buyers can chose which organization will
benefit from a list shown on the site (artistsforopenspace.com). "We've
chosen local organizations that are actively acquiring and preserving
open space for the public to enjoy." explains Jean Warren, "Now, art
buyers can give back to their community when they purchase artwork
featured on the Artists for Open Space site." Anyone interested in purchasing the art can view the Artists for Open Space website, and then contact the individual artists directly. The group also plans to show their work in public venues to allow potential buyers to view artwork in person and learn more about the artists. For a group viewing or more information, call Ms. Barry-Jansson at 408-534-1244 or visit www.artistsforopenspace.com. #### |
